Assessment and Reporting
At Synergy we want to ensure that all students make expected or better than expected progress during their time with us. Our students receive ongoing progress conversations with their all their teachers. The conversations are based on both formative and summative assessments. They form an integral part of the life of the students in ensuring that they adopt and maintain a growth mind-set.
The assessment and reporting policy outlines the methods by which students are assigned challenging targets and how they are tracked and reported throughout the academic year.
Parents receive four reports over the year which help them track student progress. The reports form part of the learning conversations that we have with parents and students. We are always happy to see parents at any time of the year to discuss individual students or any concerns in specific subject areas.
At iGCSE and A Level we offer 8 exam points each year that work to test the students ability to answer exam style questions on the unit of work studied. This in turn allow the student to identify areas of strength and weakness that can be addressed through revision sessions or further one to one additional teaching.
