As any Synergy student knows their destination is our consistent focus. Throughout your time with us the conversations have always focused on you goals and your ambitions and how we can play a role in helping to make your dreams a reality. As a school with a sport focus our students begin to look toward their future possibilities from the very outset. Being a young athlete and achieving excellent academic results makes you a very credible candidate for any number of University programmes including the American Scholarship Programmes.
We have workshops available throughout the year that explain in greater details the requirements for the very different exciting options and opportunities that are available to you. We understand that these are some of the biggest and most important decisions of your life and we are always open and available to talk about them and help in any way we can - after all just knowing your options and opportunities is a vital part of making the right decisions for you and your future.
To give you a quick glimpse of some of the options we have compiled a short and snappy guide about some potential pathways:
(BA, BSc, HND, HNC and Foundation Degrees)
Studying at a Higher Education institution (University, University College and Further Education Colleges) provides you with the opportunity to study a professional career field or subject that interests you, for the next 3-4 years.
Although, this does mean there are some strict entry requirements. Notably, a C or higher in GCSE English and Maths including 3 other GCSE’s or equivalence and on average a minimum of 240 UCAS points [it’s important to remember some institutions may require higher or lower UCAS point scores].
American University Scholarships
American universities represent a great option for hundreds of tennis players all over the world. They offer a number of benefits that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. Tennis players who play at American Universities can play top level tennis while studying at the university at the same time, training and studying every day and competing during the academic year representing the university. These tennis players end up with a university degree, learn to speak perfect English, get a several year international experience, and high level scholarships to cover most of their expenses in the US.
A gap year is fast becoming a very popular option for students who want to take some time out from their studies and try something different or new, before entering the workplace or higher education. Gap years can take many forms include travelling, volunteering, gaining paid or unpaid work experience or a combination of all three. Many universities see the positive impact a gap year can hold if it is used wisely..
